1937 AUDI "SILVER ARROW" |
I've always been fascinated with classic and antique cars. Something about the
style and no-nonsense performance of these machines captures my imagination.
One of these cars that stands out for me is the Audi "Silver Arrow" series. In the late 1930's, these cars dominated the Gran Prix racing circuit. The distinctive aluminum body, louvered air-intake gills and low, aggressive stance was decades ahead of the automobile designs of it's day...allowing it to reach speeds of up to 186 MPH in 1937! For this model, I used NURBS splines to build smooth polygonal patches. Most of the materials, with the exception of the decals, where procedural shader hierarchies. |
